Two quick comments:

  • The MSDN Subscriber download saves the VS 2005 ISO as en_vs_2005_pro_dvd.img. Most tools (such as VirtualCD from MSDN) expect the extension to be .iso (it's the same binary format, just a different extension), and you can just change the extension. The SQL Server 2005 Developer ISO has the .iso extension.
  • Visual Studio 2005 does not, it appears, have activation. This makes me very happy, as I don't want to worry about any activation BS if I need to rebuild my development machine.

Otherwise everything went very smoothly, and it looks good.
